COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES for 2021-2022 Dance Season

Applause Dance Academy is committed to your safety and slowing the spread of coronavirus!

FEELING SICK?

We request that all students, faculty, staff and family members stay home if they are sick and remain home until fever free for 72 hours without fever reducing medication. Upon arrival at ADA, if a student, faculty or staff member is not feeling well, their temperature will be taken and will be sent home if they have a fever and/or respiratory infection symptoms. Parents should update their emergency contact information as needed to ensure dancers can be picked up immediately.

SANITIZATION:

Hand sanitizer stations will be available in the lobby and inside all dance rooms. For our younger dancers who need assistance entering the lobby, we request that the parent or caretaker also use the hand sanitizer stations upon entering and exiting the studio.

WEARING A MASK:

We are leaving this decision up to parental discretion to decide whether or not they want their child to wear a mask during physical activities.

It is optional for teachers to wear a mask while teaching.

SOCIAL DISTANCING:

During Phase 2, ADA is required to restrict the number of non-dancers (parents, siblings, etc.) in the lobby to protect the health of our dancers, staff and faculty. At this time it is preferred that parents/caregivers wait in their car during class time, unless participating in a class.

Students may sit in the lobby in between classes on pre-marked social distancing dots/squares.

HOWEVER, AGES 2-4 PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

Our Tiny Dancers (Phase 2):

One parent or caregiver may walk them into the lobby and line them up in front of the classroom door. *Masks will be required for this parent while in the lobby.

This will allow for teachers to send the tiny dancer out to you if going to the bathroom is needed. We will try this for Tiny Dancers only for the first week and see how it works. For water, please give your tiny dancers water before and after class, but please do not send water bottles into the classroom.

REMINDER: One parent and please practice social distancing. Masks will be required in the lobby.

CLASS ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL:

If you arrive earlier than 10 minutes before class start time, please remain in your car with your dancer to avoid groups, crowds, and long lines.

Classes will be dismissed 5-10  minutes early to allow time for social distancing and sanitizing frequently touched surfaces.

The lobby will be monitored by staff to ensure social distancing during class transitions and exits.

Please do not enter until just a few minutes before your start time.

WATER:

In Phase 2, the kitchen remains closed. Please remember to bring your own water.

Ages 2-5 will not be allowed to bring water bottles into the classroom. Please give them water before and after class.

Ages 6+ please bring a water bottle - a flip top is preferred. The liquid must be water only.

HEALTH SCREENING:

Parents are expected to screen their own dancers for COVID-19 or other transmissible disease symptoms.

Anyone with a cough, difficulty breathing or fever should NOT come to class.

Anyone who has been in contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days should stay home.

PLAN OF ACTION:

Immediately notify ADA via phone call or email if your student has been infected with COVID-19.

If an ADA student, faculty or staff member becomes infected, the relevant class(es) will be notified through our email system.

If the studio must close due to statewide shutdown, all classes will go to Zoom lessons and fees will remain the same.
